The Farmers’ Legacy

Crafting Coffee with Passion

For generations, the farmers of Coorg have cultivated coffee with unparalleled dedication and expertise. We partnered with these custodians of tradition, like fourth-generation farmer Ravi Kumar and the women's cooperative led by Lakshmi Aunty, to preserve and share their legacy.

One of our partners, Ravi Kumar, is a fourth-generation coffee farmer. His family has been cultivating Robusta coffee on their 5-acre estate in the lush coffee belt of Coorg. Ravi’s grandfather planted the first coffee trees in the 1940s, and since then, the family has continued to perfect their craft. Ravi’s daily routine includes handpicking the ripest cherries, a process he learned from his ancestors. This labor-intensive method ensures that only the best beans are selected for roasting.

Another key partner, Lakshmi Aunty, manages a cooperative of local women farmers. This cooperative was formed to empower women in the community and promote fair trade practices. Lakshmi Aunty and her team handpick coffee cherries and process them with a meticulous approach passed down through generations. Their commitment to quality and sustainability ensures that every bean embodies the essence of Coorg’s coffee heritage.
